What problems do wildlife cause?

Most of the calls we get are because homeowners hear animals scurrying around inside the attic or walls. Most of the damage inside a houes or attic is unseen. Rodents like squirrels, mice, and rats often chew on electrical wires. Wildlife such as raccoons, bats, birds, opossums, and rats spread several diseases that humans can and do catch, such as Histoplasmosis, Salmonella, Leptospirosis and more. Many critters leave droppings and urine in an attic or cause mold or odor problems. We also handle animals outside the house. It could be a critter that has dug a large hole next to your house, or a raccoon in your garbage cans, an opossum that is stealing pet food, or a skunk living under your deck, causing an odor problem. Some animals destroy your garden or landscaping. Or perhaps you are simply scared of snakes. Raccoons And Their Interactions With Humans

When it comes to animals that rate highly in terms of how cute they are, there is no doubt that raccoons will feature towards the top of the list. Unfortunately their appearance doesn’t mean that they are as benign and pleasant as they appear, and in many Mobile raccoon removal cases their natural traits are likely to bring them into conflict with humans.

Are Raccoons Dangerous To Humans?
There are many different situations in which raccoons can come across humans, and one of the most common is if they are foraging for food among human garbage. Raccoons can carry a number of different diseases and parasites that can be harmful to humans. They have been known to carry diseases such as Leptopirosis, Listerosis and Tetanus which can cause problems if they are transmitted to humans.

Probably the biggest Mobile snake removal risk of coming into contact with raccoons is that some animals will actually carry rabies. One of the major differences between rabies in dogs and raccoons is that raccoons will actually become a little more reclusive rather than being more likely to attack. Raccoons do not generally look for confrontation with humans, and although they can deliver a nasty bite they will usually only use this as a last resort where they have no option to hide or flee.

The other Mobile rat control area in which raccoons can be dangerous to humans is if they move into an urban area. As well as the health problems of rooting through garbage and spreading spoiled food around, they can also create a den within a home. This can be especially problematic as they can cause a significant mess both in terms of gnawing and chewing cables or plastic pipes, as well as urinating and defecating in and around the area of the property in which they are residing.

Can Raccoons Be Kept As Pets?
Although there are a number of people who do keep raccoons as pets, these will tend to be few and far between as raccoons will often make for problematic Mobile bat removal pets. This is especially the case when they are animals that have been captured from the wild, as they will be used to living in the wild. It is also worth checking to see if your state has any regulations about keeping wild animals and especially raccoons as pets, as it will be illegal in some states.

The majority of people who keep raccoons will keep them from a very young age, because they will be much easier to train and can become used to having regular contact with humans. They can also be trained to urinate and defecate in litter, but this can take time and patience. For those who are thinking of keeping a raccoon as an indoor pet, it can be a particular problem as they do naturally mark their territory with their excretions.

Another Mobile bird control issue that is important to bear in mind is that raccoons can be prone to overeat if they are given abundant food, so keeping an eye on their diet is important, and regular exercise will be vital. There are occasions of raccoons living up to 20 years of age in captivity, so it is also a significant commitment to adopt a raccoon as a pet.

Further Information About Raccoons
Raccoons are animals that are very adaptable, which is why many have become very good at living and foraging in urban areas. For many people, their habit of scavenging through garbage cans is particularly frustrating, as it can cause a lot of mess. For those who want to keep raccoons away there are a number of Mobile rodent extermination steps that can be taken, and they really don’t have to be exterminated.
